Supporting local charity
This month we at Northside Automotive are proud to support our local charity Meals on Wheels Mitchelton. We have made a cash donation to the charity to assist in the operation of their food delivery to those in need in our local area.
About Meals on Wheels
These guys do a fantastic and much-needed job delivering over 120 fresh meals to clients’ homes each and every week. The food they provide is cooked from scratch in the organisations’ kitchen and volunteers help to deliver the food across the Everton Hills and surrounding suburbs. These meals are delivered to people in the community with a variety of needs. Meals on Wheels delivers to the elderly, disabled, and the carers of these people. They can deliver daily, or on a more temporary basis, for instance when someones usual support network is away. The visits from meals on wheels volunteers also aim to provide a friendly face, a chat and a link to the outside world for those that may not be able to leave their homes. It is also a way to ensure that those that are at home are looked in on to ensure their safety and wellbeing.
Volunteers play a huge role in the operation of Meals on Wheels Mitchelton. In fact of the 150 staff, only 4 are paid permanent. The rest of the team are local community members giving their time and effort for the betterment of our community.
